What is SoftWave Therapy?

SoftWave Tissue Regeneration Technologies represent a breakthrough in regenerative medicine. This innovative approach has received acclaim nationally and internationally for its effectiveness, backed by numerous clinical trials and FDA approval, demonstrating remarkable results across various studies.

At its core, SoftWave TRT targets the site of injury at a molecular level, activating the body's natural healing processes.

The technology uses advanced shock wave mechanics, featuring an electrohydraulic spark gap system paired with a unique parabolic reflector. This setup produces a broad-reaching supersonic acoustic wave that covers a large area, greatly boosting the healing process.

The benefits of SoftWave therapy are comprehensive, including:

  • Improved circulation and blood flow
  • Reduction of inflammation
  • Stimulation and recruitment of the body's own stem cells
  • Enhanced tissue repair, regeneration, and rejuvenation
  • Relief from both acute and chronic pain
How soon will I feel results from SoftWave treatments? How long are treaments?

During your initial visit, which we call Discovery Day, we can determine if SoftWave is right for you!

Typically, many patients experience a significant pain reduction of 60% to 75% by the third treatment. After completing 6 to 8 sessions, peak stem cell activation is achieved, which continues to support tissue healing and regeneration for the following 8 to 12 weeks. Studies indicate a success rate of 65% to 91% for musculoskeletal issues using this method.

Patients often notice a marked reduction in pain and swelling, increased mobility, and improved blood flow within 15 to 20 hours after treatment.

The most significant healing phase occurs 8 to 12 weeks post-treatment, when stem cell concentrations are at their highest, facilitating the repair of damaged tissues.

The number of treatments required varies based on your specific condition and health objectives, which we will thoroughly assess during your first consultation through an in-depth discussion and examination.

Each session is quick and effective, lasting only 5 to 15 minutes!

How do I know if I am a candidate for SoftWave Therapy?

Your initial visit, called Discovery Day, marks the beginning of your treatment journey. During this session, we use an advanced scanning device to analyze your body. Normally, healthy tissues do not emit a biofeedback signal. However, if the scanner identifies areas affected by damage, inflammation, arthritis, scar tissue, or poor circulation, a distinct biofeedback signal is generated. This signal is a key indicator of whether our therapy will be beneficial for you.

The link between a positive biofeedback signal and successful treatment outcomes is well-supported, showing an effectiveness rate of 65-91% for musculoskeletal conditions.

SoftWave Therapy is highly effective for a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal issues, ranging from acute injuries to chronic ailments. It is used to treat conditions such as back pain, various disc disorders, knee pain due to arthritis or runner's knee, foot conditions like plantar fasciitis and Morton's neuroma, ankle sprains, hip discomfort, IT band syndrome, neck pain including headaches, shoulder issues like rotator cuff injuries, and elbow pain from tennis to golfer's elbow, as well as hand and wrist problems including arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome. It is also beneficial for sports injuries, repetitive stress injuries, and many other common conditions.

Do I have to be a Thrive Chiropractic patient to be a SoftWave new patient?

Absolutely not! While many of our clients at Thrive Chiropractic experience significant improvements by combining SoftWave therapy with their chiropractic treatments, you are also welcome to choose SoftWave TRT therapy on its own!

SoftWave TRT vs Other Devices?

Groundbreaking SoftWaveTRT OrthoGold sets the standard in healing with its advanced shockwave technology!

Protected by over 46 patents, SoftWaveTRT OrthoGold distinguishes itself from ultrasound and electrical stimulation by offering a revolutionary new class of therapy.

SoftWave stands apart from ultrasound or electrical stimulation—it's an entirely different category!

SoftWave generates highly effective shock waves that kickstart biological regeneration processes at the cellular level!

This technology activates the body’s natural healing processes at the cellular level with its potent shock waves.

SoftWaves are produced by a high-energy electrical discharge in water between two electrode tips, one positive and one negative. This discharge creates a spark gap, equalizing the voltage and forming a hot plasma bubble. When this bubble bursts, it exerts pressure on the surrounding water, generating a force exceeding 10 MPa in mere nanoseconds.

Featuring an innovative parabolic reflector applicator, SoftWave delivers low-intensity yet extensive focused energy through parallel waves, placing it at the cutting edge of broad-focused shock wave therapy. With its unique electrohydraulic shock wave mechanism that operates more effectively in water than air, it ensures profound therapeutic effects without causing microtrauma.

Experience enhanced healing outcomes across a broader and deeper treatment area!

Shock waves are intense acoustic pulses characterized by a rapid and high positive pressure rise followed by a relatively minor negative pressure (tensile wave).

Radial pressure waves, on the other hand, are pneumatically generated acoustic pulses with a gentler steeping effect and a slower rise time, culminating in a more pronounced negative pressure (tensile wave). These waves are superficial, with the highest energy and pressure concentrated directly at the surface of the applicator.

Ultrasound waves consist of periodic oscillations with a narrow bandwidth, lacking the peak pressures and rapid rise times seen in shock wave technologies.

Radial Pressure Wave therapy, distinct from true shock waves, addresses only surface-level issues within a focused acoustic energy column measuring 2 cm wide by 2 cm deep, roughly equivalent to the size of five stacked nickels. Radial waves dissipate energy quickly the further they travel from the source and are generated using a pneumatic system that propels a projectile at high speed before abruptly stopping it at a transmitter applied to the treatment area. The effectiveness of the pressure waves diminishes as they penetrate deeper into the body.

SoftWave Therapy, however, utilizes a patented parabolic reflector, setting it apart from other shock wave devices. This technology combines the robust effectiveness of the electrohydraulic shock wave generation method with an applicator (OP155) that disperses energy in a broad, focused pattern. This design offers several significant advantages:

  • The treatment area is substantially larger (7 cm wide by 12 cm deep, akin to the depth of a soup can), enhancing the efficiency of the treatment and reducing the number of sessions required.
  • Unlike radial treatments, SoftWave does not induce or rely on micro traumas to initiate healing. Instead, it stimulates cells to release microvesicles non-traumatically, triggering a rapid and safe healing response without breaking the skin, unlike radial devices.
  • SoftWave technology is scientifically proven to recruit and activate endogenous stem cells for effective healing.
  • Additionally, SoftWave can perform a diagnostic function, eliciting biofeedback that precisely identifies the origins of pain, thereby significantly enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of treatments.
